One month down, two to go

Kevin is done with his fist month of the Fire Academy. I asked him what he would want people to know about his first month and he said "It's not just about fighting fires". He has been studying alot and when he gets home on Saturdays is soaking wet (from sweating) and exhausted. Yesterday he had to carry an 180lb man down a ladder 3 TIMES!!! Today his arms are hurting. I have been learning stuff to... Friday night we saw what you and I would refer to as a Fire Truck, but to them it's a FIRE ENGINE. I guess depending on it's size and what it carrys they are called different things. So he explained to me the types and now when I see one I will be able to tell the difference.

We have had lots of "Fire Drills", some some suprise and some not. He is getting faster and when I timed him yesterday did it in 45 secs! Much improved!!! SA is not a huge fan of the fire drills, especially when he puts on his oxegen tank and mask. He runs around with his tail down and barks like crazy. He usually will not go any where near Kevin in his gear so I am not sure how I got this pic.

I guess you can see by all the gear he has to wear why he sweats so much. They spend most of the day in all their gear doing drills and lost of push ups. Needless to say he has lost a little weight! It's only May.. it's just going to get hotter!!!

So, in your words, what's the difference between a Fire "truck" and a Fire "engine"? And, can you object to me proposing a Fire Drill at this very moment. Man, lucky guy! I want to do up-downs in that while a fire is encircling me while I douse myself in alcohol while smoking a cigarette. Okay, all that probably not, maybe just wearing the suit might make me feel like I was cool, or more like my man, Kevin.
