Awesome Halloween Cookies

Anyone in my family will tell you that I do not cook or bake. In fact I have a saying on the wall in my kitchen that says "The only reason I have a kitchen is it came with the house!" But last year I caught the baking bug! It was close to Christmas and I wanted to do something nice for the people at work who I get to close with every week. I found some cool muffin tins shaped like mittens and snowmen and have been baking ever since... cooking not so much, still working on that one. We were at Trolley Square a few months ago and I came across some Halloween Cookie Cutters that were AWESOME! They make a stamped cookie so you can make a cookie sandwich. And I had to have them. I found a sugar cookie recipe and thought "I can do this" , it was my first time making any type of sugar cookie so I was a little nervous. The first batch was a disaster, I just couldn't get it to work right. I called my mom and she came over with "her recipe", which of course is the best! Next I need her to give me a lesson in decorating! She is an awesome cake decorator and if she had done the decorating they would have looked much better. But I think they turned out pretty good for my first time! Thanks mom for your help! You are the best! Growing up she would try to teach me all that she knows but I wasn't interested, I should have listened! It would save me a few calls and her the headache of my calls!
